The Strategic Technology Partner sounds good in theory. In practice it starts with earning a seat at the decision-making table, and with the right consultants, partners or acquisitions behind you.

Customers are re-evaluating their service providers as AI moves value from units of managed IT to business outcomes. That shift creates a new role: the Strategic Technology Partner.

An ‘AI strategy’ boxes AI into a department and delivers incremental change. What most organisations, and most service providers, need is a new strategy with AI at its core.

We’ve been here before with the internet and with cloud. With AI too, the rate of adoption, not the technology, will set the pace, and leadership will sort the survivors from the rest.

Enterprises learned the hard way that AI is not an overnight transformation. The MSPs that stay relevant will be the ones whose leaders rebuild the business around outcomes, not tickets and devices.

AI will automate a real share of what MSPs do today. The strategic question is whether you use it to compete harder in a shrinking market, or to create one nobody else is in yet.
